PASSPORT & HEALTH

PASSPORT: Valid through at least August 2027

VACCINES: None required — a few are optional to consider

Passport: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months past our February 4 return date —so through August 2027 or later. US citizens don’t need a visa for this trip (stays under 90 days), but you’ll want at least one blank page for entry/exit stamps. If your passport needs renewing, start that process now — renewals can take a few weeks to a couple of month depending on the season.

Health & Vaccines: No vaccines are required to enter Guatemala. If you’d like to look into optional ones, Hepatitis A and Typhoid are commonly recommended for this region, and it’s a good time to make sure you’re up to date on routine vaccines like MMR. A visit to your doctor 4-6 weeks before departure is the general guidance if you want to explore this — but there is no requirement either way.
